Review

Nostalgia is by far my favorite queer porn. It's smart and edgy, surreal and dreamlike. The scenes are the very definition of the word "queer." I also love that it's a reflection of how strange and bizarrely erotic sex can sometimes be. The film is actually meant to be an homage to the Classic porn era (ala Deep Throat and The Devil in Miss Jones), and is dedicated to classic porn starlet Marilyn Chambers. Carol Queen, another starlet of that era, actually makes a cameo as part of a horny audience of masqueraded queers watching a helpless girl get fucked by two masked dykes on a stage. That's the first of four scenes that make up this dreamy, deviant display of queer sex.

Next is a hilarious and sexy scene with Syd Blakovich playing an astute doctor, Jiz Lee (with a long hair wig -- totally hot!) playing an eager nurse, and Madison Young playing a pouty patient who can't orgasm. After a very thorough exam, the good Doctor discovers that the unresponsive patient actually can be cured! Turns out, her clitoris is in the back of her throat! So of course, the Doc and his steadfast nurse prove their hypothesis by throat-fucking the hell out of Madison Young, which proves effective: Madison squirts glitter!

In the following scene, a vegan boi is caught in an awkward conversation with two friends about the joys of bacon, and her thoughts drift off toward fucking them silly and force-feeding them vegan cake. And lastly, a soul trapped in purgatory is allowed a taste of "forbidden fruit" -– actually, she gets three!

What makes me love Nostalgia is that fantasy and playfulness transcend our proclivity toward consumerist porn and instant gratification; Courtney Trouble allows us to descend into a world of art and absurdity that's tucked into the corners of our collective, queer erotic imagination, as far away from reality as we can get. Also, the queers, as always, respond to a time and place that we were traditionally excluded from by showing respect, homage... and by doing it better and hotter!
