Synopsis

Ever since gay men created their own unique culture, they have a special way of expressing their adoration towards their idols. A woman hasn’t really made it to the top until she has been spoofed on some stage by a drag queen. After German photographer Peter Werner started shooting men in drag who took a bow to their idols, he was overwhelmed by the requests that followed. Everybody wanted to be a part of this special project. "Me and My Idol" is the result of this work — creative, colorful and overflowing with imagination. This beautiful book is a wonderful homage to our female icons, with before and after shots - comparisons that are pretty often astounding.
