An above average and quite entertaining coming-of-age comedy set in a mid-1960s Brooklyn all-boys Catholic high school. The sometimes hilarious story follows the tight-knit group, each of whom is dealing with the inner turmoil of both being at the mercy of their ever-raging hormones, and being born a Catholic. While not explicitly gay in content, hunky bully-next-door Kevin Dillon (Matt's younger brother) continuously taunts one fellow student with "fag" remarks, and the boys suffer a painful - yet perversely erotic - paddling at the hands of an overly judicious Brother. The film features an appealing cast including, in a funny turn, future gay porn star Stephen Fright Night Geoffreys as one of the boys who just can't seem to keep "it" in his pants any longer.
