Every so often a gay porn comes out that is so bad it's fun. And every now and then a gay porn comes out that's so bad it's just bad. Hard to Swallow most definitely falls into the latter category.

An all-oral collection, I'm actually stunned that this thing was released. I'm almost tempted to call this thing amateur - for execution, not because of the models (although most of these guys will have a hard time ever finding work in the adult industry). Seeing "regular looking" and averagely-hung guys I have no problem with. But seeing guys this rickety looking and in such a piss-poor production I have a major problem with. And I saw this thing for free! If I had paid I would have been angry.

Scenes go on forever with nary any action. Dicks are limp throughout, and the cumshots - save for a few heavy facials towards the end - are negligible. The cast? Pretty lame looking. Unless paunches, small dicks and odd-looking facial features turn you on. (The one cutie in the film, the sadly-named Latin Heat, shows up at the end, is adorable and I wanted more of him.)

The strangest thing about this whole affair is the dubbed in sound. It's absolutely hilarious. The film was shot on digital video, yet the soundtrack was clearly dubbed in by other guys. Several times, the voices change three different times! It was stupendously bad; the moving lips weren't even synched up with what was being said. The extreme gagging noises we hear only furthered my frustration as there was no gagging to be seen on-screen. (Ricky Parker deep throats in two scenes.)

I'm not going to even bother going through a full review, as this thing was so creaky; it was like a bad porn from the early 80s. Director Edward James has made films that are either good, okay, or out and out awful. This limp bit of rip-off definitely falls into the "My God, that crap was 100% atrocious" category. He should be ashamed of himself for allowing it to be released, and Bacchus should hang their head in shame for foisting such a lame excuse of a porn on the buying public.

As it's coming from a non-amateur studio, I hereby cast my vote for Hard to Swallow as one of the year's top 25 worst.
