Director Israel Luna (Ticked-Off Trannies with Knives) shows audiences just how cut–throat show business can be in this bloody, outrageous horror–comedy that satirizes the filmmaking industry. When the air–headed leading lady of a B–grade Fright Flick turns up brutally murdered during the film shoot, the motley members of the cast and crew find themselves at the heart of a real–life whodunit—and with so many competing egos on set, everyone's a suspect.
Featuring gay icon Chad Allen (Ice Blues, Hollywood, je t'aime) alongside an oddball cast of characters—from the eccentric director, to the bitter supporting actress, to the scheming production assistants—Fright Flick keeps the laughs and the screams rolling with a sinful combination of dark humor, suspense, and comic–book–style gore.

“Fright Flick”
A Horror Comedy

Israel Luna is new on the scene and has already gained a certain notoriety and I use that that word instead of fame simply because of the nature of his films. Right on the heels of his success with “Ticked Off Trannies with Knives” do we get “Fright Flick: was although made earlier is just seeing its DVD release now.
If you are into slasher films, this one is for you and even if you do not care for horror films, this is a crowd-pleaser. It is low-budget and high horror with great comedy. The film is about a movie crew that is being stalked by a slasher. Our cast includes a flamboyant director who is obsessed with his leading lady, a producer who gets no credit for what he does and a supporting female actress who is upset that she did not get the lead. In fact, every cast member has a bone to pick but there is one person who's eager gets the best of him.
There is blood everywhere and the special effects are wonderful. We do not often get comedy and horror together as part of the intended film and here it really works.
The film being made in “Fright Flick” just happens to be named “Fright Flick” and when the film opens we are on the set when the lead actress is murdered while putting on her make-up. We then jump forward two years to the location of yet another movie named “Fright Flick” which is over-shadowed by the previous production. The blood starts instantly and people get very worried. Tempers flare and tension is high and the cast members realize that whoever the stalker is, he must be someone who knows the cast well. It is also here that comedy starts as the cast members begin to kill each other and this is to continue until the real slasher is found. I am not sure that the laughs are really funny or if we laugh out of fear because this is a scary film. In fact the only time the comedy stops is when someone is to be killed.
Israel Luna shows some of his influences in this film and it is clear to see that he has quite a career in front of him. Even though the script is not it could be, Luna gives us an enjoyable film and he may have very well started a new genre, horror fluff.
And Chad Allen, gay heartthrob heads the cast.
