- Gay films that rock
Whatever your musical taste, gay films are packed with great tunes, here are a few: Our favorite film from 2001, Hedwig and the Angry Inch , is a rock-n-roll masterpiece that should be in every queer music lover's collection. TLA Releasing's hit 24 Nights is not only a wonderful romantic comedy but features songs by gay crooner Rufus Wainwright and Vicki Lawrence's classic tune "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia." Our biggest hit with the hottest soundtrack is Queer as Folk: The Complete First Season (we also sell the Queer as Folk: Soundtrack .) The Swiss film Fogi is a Bastard is chock full of great original rock-n-roll and songs by the Velvet Underground and Patti Smith. Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake is not only performed by shirtless dancers, but Tchaikosky's music is breathtaking. If you love eighties music, don't forget Edge of Seventeen or Abba, check out The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and don't miss the great Mamas and the Papas tunes in Beautiful Thing.
