Great movie to rent or to buy. It is a story that one can relate to in the everyday world of life. It tells a story that you can relate to and you go through the emotions and the struggles of Bowser as he tries all different ways of making his dream come true. Of course I can't give away the ending but I can tell you that you will get wrapped up in this film. Well done to the Cast, Crew, Writer and everyone that was a part of this film.

I saw Bowser Makes A Movie in Chicago when it played at the Film Festival. I truly enjoyed this film and have purchased a copy for my personal library. The film took me from laughing hysterically to breaking out the Kleenex to wipe away some tears. The acting was very good, keep an eye on Nick Louis (Bowser), he will definitely be going places. The acting and directing in this film kept me interested in the storyline for the entire length of the movie. I highly recommend this film and hope there are more Hornbill Films coming out in the near future.

I thought the acting was first class, the jokes were very funny, the plot was a bit of a stretch but considering this was an off the wall comedy I totally bought into it. Actually I enjoyed the extra chapters, Nick Lewis is very charming...you can hire me to make a movie for you any time (I have turned a few heads in my day). Kudos!

Even if this film was meant ironically or sarcastically, it would still be terrible. It makes use of a camera technique that looks like every third frame was removed. I actually liked it for a few minutes because it gave the impression of a live action anime in its hurky-jerky movements. But that grew old. Fast.
Even that has no semblance of consistancy. The technique was used intermittantly with no relevance to what was on screen. The acting is pretty mediocre, although there were moments that showed a little promise. The plot, while possibly trying to be screwball comedy in nature was just screwy. Characters were under-ripe stereotypes, and generally offensive, though only mildly. I purchased this DVD based on the description and the reviews, but after viewing it, all I can surmise is that those who enjoyed it so much were in a state of horniness (which, sadly couldn't have been resolved by this movie) and a bit too much pot. You know, how high schoolers act, where everything strikes them as hilarious. I watched the whole thing, including the smirking interview with the "stars" and the deleted scenes, hoping to get a clue if this movie had a point. It didn't. And the ending.... please, even a third rate sitcom has a resolution better than that. Saturday Night Live at its worst and most self-serving is better than this. Plot: rambled, jumped around, was improbable, was stupid (although the premise showed a lot of promise).

Bottom line, the movie was one big inside joke apparently.The stars & director seemed to love it. But then again, they looked like they may have had a little too much to drink. Actually, Bowser Makes A Movie, made me a little sad.
Don't buy this. Really.

During a recent business trip to Chicago I had the opportunity to attend the premiere of “Bowser Makes a Movie” at the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. This movie is outstanding from beginning to end. Not only is this film produced and directed by Toby Ross a Chicagoan but also showcases local Chicago talent and locations.

Let me just say that although the plot had unanswered questions, this film put me in an instantly good mood. I fell in love with Bowser (Nick Louis) and every character was as funny as the next. Local celebrity Mimi Marks (is that a real woman?) was hysterical as the glamorous Mrs. Belami taking blowjob lessons from Nick Louis in an ice cream parlor, very funny.

What I found unusual about Bowser was the emotional crescendo the director took me through. At times I found myself laughing hysterically and then a bit teary eyed at other times, especially when Bower's Dad has his heart to heart talk with his son giving him a war time souvenir. Bowser's Dad was not only outstanding but very appealing as well. Desperate Housewives gardener step aside, Galen in Bowser is made this fan want to rethink my landscaping needs. The jaded porn star Vincent Van Coq made me pee in my pants.
In conclusion this movie is funny with some outstanding lines that only a creative mind would think of, I couldn’t not help but to laugh even a couple of days after watching this film. All and all I loved it, as pure escapism its near perfect.
