There are unspeakable horrors to be found at the Sahara Salvation Bed and Breakfast and not all of them involve the suspiciously meaty mincemeat muffins offered to guests when they check in! Totally tongue-in-cheek, this hysterically funny and sexy offering is a must for queer horror fans.

On the eve of a monster circuit party, five wary couples arrive at this dusty and rundown bed and breakfast that has hopefully seen better days. Besides the muffins, our guests are greeted by the hostesses Helen and her most peculiar daughter Luella. The first guests to arrive are dragstress Alex and his lover "Mr. Leather" Dom who always travels with his wandering eyes. For now, they’re focused on one half of the preppy couple Alex and Mike, who always travel with their trusty fag hag Lizete. Rodney has brought his "trainer" Todd for what he hopes will be a hot weekend spent largely in bed – it's most assuredly not to be! Also in the guest register are Deborah and Gabby, a pair of power dykes who manufacture "adult goodies" and Brenda with her wholesome folk singing lover Starr. These girls are ready for a weekend of wife-swapping, but we're afraid our hostesses have other plans. Helen has a particular hatred for homos; she enjoys killing queers for sport. Her daughter has lesbian tendencies and when they surface the guests better hide the cutlery. Her son is some kind of wild monster who simply likes to eat people – straight or gay – it's not important! You may never stay in a gay B&B again!

An aCquired taste. This is a film that trails in the blaze following a long legacy of American films makers such as Herschel Gordon Lewis, Any Milligan, Don Edmonds (Ilsa the she wolf of the SS) and all the schlock masters who made horror films in the 60's, you have to have an understanding for this genre, most gay "Siskels and Eberts" (yes they can exist in one body if you are fancy yourself a gay critic) have a taste that is light years away from this type of film. I liked it. It was great fun and considering the budget I caught some interesting crane shots not to be found in other gay films. Exploitation films are not "Nice Lovely Gay Films" they go a different route, they celebrate tastelessness and hope to share this delight with its fringe audience. It was wonderful to see a "gay arm" to a genre that is mainly inhabited by straight underground directors and audiences. Watch with a friend (preferably someone who you can laugh with and make comments).

This is a very funny horror campfest. I absolutely loved every minute of this film. If you enjoy comedy mixed with horror, then you'll get a kick out of this unusual film. I would recommend it to people that liked "Hellbent" and "Creatures from the Pink Lagoon."
