Synopsis

Meet Mark Anderson, a recent stroke victim who is frail and weak. Also, his best friend Thomas, a classic over the hill drag queen desperate for love and happiness. Mark and Thomas have a master plan, to find Mark’s son, James Anderson the love of his life once and for all. Meanwhile, Billy, a young gay teenager who has just turned 18 gets his first country kiss from his best friend Rick and is immediately caught and then thrown out of his house by his abusive father. With no place to turn, no cash and no contacts, Billy hitch hikes to the big city.

Confused, lost and running scared, Billy soon finds a help wanted ad posted in a local city gay café by James. Billy interviews for the job and soon accepts the challenge as the role of caretaker on the spot. He quickly learns about full responsibility, independence, not to mention real life lessons about being gay. Billy unexpectedly finds himself in love with James and builds a bond with Mark that is unbreakable. An Angel Named Billy is a heartwarming, funny and unforgettable story of an abused boy who in leaving his life of hate and mistrust is able to come to terms in his own way of being gay in a modern world. What Could Have Been

“An Angel Named Billy” could have been such a goof movie but not much seemed to work, It is a father-son story that just does not make it.

Mark Anderson has suffered a terrible stroke and he is left both weak and fail, He and Thomas, his best friend and classic over-the-top drag queen who is desperate for love have a plan to find Mark’s son, James. At the same time, Billy a gay teenager who has just becomes 18 receives his first kiss from his best friend, Tick and is thrown out of the house by his father. Billy hitches to the big city and confused and lost, he answer an ad for help wanted that he sees posted in a gay coffee house. He gets the job as a caretaker and finds himself in live with James.

This is a refreshing and romantic story of a boy who had to leave behind himself a life of hate and disappointments and who learns to come to terms with himself. The story is sweet and emotional but the script is totally unbalanced. There were great opportunities for this to have been a really good movie but it did not happen. Some of the acting is quite good but a lot of it is awful. The entire movie hit me as amateurish and I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, that did not happen. It really hurts to see a film that has a good premise fall flat.

This movie is a waste. The actors are wooden. The dialogue is unbelievable. The story could have been OK if this production would not have been less professional than a junior high play. The actors are over the top and they make the characters quite annoying. Don't waste your money and time watching this amateur production.

An Angel Named Billy Discovered

This is a film of discovery. The discovery of true love with all of its highs, lows, everything else one can imagine for a young gay man. This story is sentimental yet it is very romatic, almost to a fault. It is totally enjoyable and holds the audience attention continously. Take your lover to this movie!!!
