Synopsis

In Altitude Falling it's the year 2029, and everyone has been injected with a chip that is used to track people's movements, jobs and political memberships. Greg helped invent it, but now he's in the mountains living a quiet life...that is until he meets, and falls in love with, the adorable, and very young, Danny.

Review

All of the stars have aligned for filmmaker Paul Bright on Altitude Falling. While the film is set in the future, it's obviously a personal story and its resonance is felt in every aspect of the production. Paul's films always have a heart of gold at the center; sometimes they lack polish or present less than professional acting; with Altitude Falling Paul's cast (including himself) is first-rate and the film enjoyable (as always).

It's 2029 and everyone's got a micro-chip id that the government uses to track their finances, purchases, diseases, relationships - you name it. When you enter a store, it says hello to you. For instance if you enter the "Scan and Scram" you might be greeted with a loud (embarrassing) offer for Minoxidil. And we didn't make up the store name; it's in the film! Paul's always had a silly side....

Greg Forrester (Paul Bright) was one of the inventors who helped create the chip but after the job was done he had to flee for his life. Settling in a mountain town he now repairs bikes and tends his plot in the community garden. Things are going along well until one day at the communal garden, he meets and eventually falls in love with Danny, a new boy in town who turns out to have important connections to Greg's past.

Altitude Falling combines politics with romance and intrigue to create a uniquely entertaining film. Check it out; it's a sweet one.

This movie looks like it was set in the past, not the future. Not at all what I expected from the description on the package. A waste of money. Not just my opinion, but also of 3 other friends who watched.

If you want to see a really good movie see this one! Paul Bright has outdone himself. I forgot I was watching an indie, this movie has everything in it that the big budgets have; Romance, mystery, suspense, a little skin, and superb acting from all the principal players.Bravo to Paul, and I personally can't wait for your next movie!....Jeff

Paul Bright has made some really interesting films, "Angora Ranch", "Aaron...Albeit a Sex Hero" and now" Altitude Falling". What is amazing is how different these three film are. In "Altitude Falling" we get a science fiction look at gay life and Bright gives us a very interesting film.
In 2009, everyone receives an injection with an identification chip which was originally used for medical purposes but is now being used to track certain aspects of life--travel patterns, purchases, politics, diseases and relationships. The man responsible for this is Greg Forrester and he has since fled to a remote town in the mountains as he does not much like the world that he has created. He is alone and sad but then he meets Danny who just moved to where Greg lives and the two men discover connections. Greg helps Danny to get a job with the government but he later learns that Danny is a member of a covert army group undertaking a suicide mission. In order for Greg to save Danny's life, he must destroy his own life and it is in this film that we are allowed to take a peek into the future of a world that has no privacy.
At first I thought that the idea for this film was a bit far fetched but I soon realized that this could easily happen. I do not know if Bright meant for this film to be a warning or a lesson but it certainly can be. It is an interesting film not only because it is well made and with good actors but because it could actually happen.
