Review

Scripted by gay playwright Paul Rudnick (Jeffrey), this deliciously mordant comedy is infused with an almost palpable gay sensibility and in many ways is funnier than the original. The film's plot is thin -- Uncle Fester falls in love with a scheming gold-digger and poor Pugsley and Wednesday are sent to summer camp -- but that is all that's needed to keep the black comedy reeling.
