2008 GayVN Award Winners

After the smashing success of 2007's Kathy Griffin-hosted show, the ceremony returned to San Francisco in 2008 to award the highest achievements in the gay adult industry. This year's event was held at The Giftcenter, 888 Brannan Street, on Saturday, February 16, 2008, and the space - while a bit out of the way compared to 2007's perfectly central Castro Theater - proved to be a winner. With its five-story open-roof atrium and multi-leveled seating, everyone had a bird's eye view.

Both the booze and the catty awards-show banter flowed freely. Trust.

We were seated right up front and took in all the action. Lady Bunny was (per usual) astonishingly raunchy as well as hilarious, and Q-Radio's Derek & Romaine kept things moving nicely. Raging Stallion's Grunts was the big winner, taking home a boatload of awards, including Best Actor for Jake Deckard, Best Director, and the biggie - Best Picture of the Year. Link: The Evolution took home a ton as well, including Best All-Sex Video and Best Group Scene. And TLA Releasing took home Best Alternative Release for the hit Naked Boys Singing. (Shameless plug!)
