2006 GayVN Award Winners

Showcasing the very best in gay adult filmmaking, the winners for the 8th Annual GayVN Awards were announced on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the RAGE Nightclub in West Hollywood, CA. Packed to the rafters, once again the event was not open to the public; hopefully this will change in 2007. The event was hosted once again by Chi Chi LaRue - who did a bang-up job - and featured award presenters Jake Andrews (who was inducted into the GayVN Hall of Fame later that night), Benjamin Bradley, Eric Hunter, Dean Phoenix, Robert Van Damme and Derrick Vinyard. Sister Roma (of the Tim & Roma Show) handled the red carpet arrivals, Gino Colbert presided over the Hall of Fame inductees, and GayVN Editor Doug Lawrence presented TLA Entertainment Group/TLA Video with the Outstanding Achievement Award.

Leading the pack was Rascal Video's epic Wrong Side of the Tracks, which took home 7 awards, including three for star Johnny Hazzard, Best Director for Chi Chi LaRue, Best Videography for a long-overdue Hue Wilde, and a co-win for Best Picture (it tied along with Michael Lucas' Dangerous Liaisons).

Speaking of Liaisons the 13-time nominee (the most for 2006) snagged four awards, including its aforementioned tie for Best Picture (both films were definitely worthy) as well as nods for Best DVD Extras/Special Edition, Tony DiMarco's phenomenal screenplay and Best Supporting Actor Kent Larson.
