Four customers each try to rip off antique dealer Cushing in some way, and -- as is always the case in these kinds of films -- get their just deserts in various macabre and supernatural ways. Pleasence stars in one episode as a beggar and match salesman who helps fulfill an unhappy husband's secret wish. Another segment casts Warner as a depraved collector who forms an unnatural bond with a spirit residing in an antique mirror. The best story, however, involves an old doorway that opens a portal into a sinister world which threatens to suck in and destroy a young married couple. A final coda involves Cushing's revenge on an attempted burglar and murderer. Lots of ghoulish fun and great entertainment on a dark night.
