Well the special effects are certainly more impressive than anything they could dream up in the '50s
Really, could anyone say no to Jennifer Connelly's pleas? Even an alien? Probably not.
We're not sure Al Gore would approve of Klaatu's environmental hypocrisy. Blowing shit up leaves quite a carbon footprint.
