The legendary Fantasia International Film Festival - North America's largest horror and fantasy film fest, held annually in Montreal - offers an expansive selection. It was the first North American film festival to showcase films by acclaimed director Takashi Miike (Audition, Visitor Q, Ichi the Killer) and also held the Western debut of Hideo Nakata's terrifying sensation Ringu (later adapted as The Ring by director Gore Verbinski).
