A mother and her young son are accosted by a wild-eyed, disheveled woman in a parking garage who claims that the son is the child of Satan and must be destroyed. Frustrated by police inaction, the mother hires a private investigator to protect the boy from murderous attacks by crazed cult members. The action moves through various twists and turns as the viewer is guided to a quite unexpected denouement. Zabriskie and Struycken are especially good as two of the lunatic cult members.
