Blanca Guerra, Guy Stockwell, and Axel Jodorowsky star in Santa Sangre, a surreal epic about a young circus performer, the crime of passion that shatters his soul, and the macabre journey back to the world of his armless mother and deaf–mute lover.

Confined to a mental hospital, a young man recalls what traumatized him back when he and his family were circus performers: he saw his father cut off the arms of his mother, a religious fanatic and leader of the heretical church of Santa Sangre, and then commit suicide. He escapes the asylum and rejoins his surviving mother. Against his will, he "becomes her arms" and the two undertake a grisly campaign of murder and revenge.
