Prince Rogers Nelson was born June 7, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is best known for performing under the name Prince - though his name and identity have varied over the years. From his early material, rooted in R&B, funk and soul, he has constantly expanded his musical palette - absorbing many other genres like new wave, pop, rock, blues, jazz and hip hop. The distinctive characteristics of the early-to-mid '80s work became known as "The Minneapolis Sound."

Prince released several hundred songs, both under his own name and through other artists. Regarded as a perfectionist, he produces, composes, arranges and performs nearly all of the songs on his albums.

Critics have dubbed him a musical genius due to his proficiency at various instruments. This DVD reveals, through many interviews, why Prince is so respected by fellow musicians and also adored by his fans worldwide.
