Several komodo dragon eggs are chucked into a field on a remote island. By chance (as is in films like these), the island also houses a toxic chemical plant. Years later, mutant komodos kill a boy's parents (and, in the movie's one good scare, his cute dog). Emotionally scarred, his therapist takes him back to the island for confrontational therapy. Komodo is stupid, silly, cheesy, and a lot more entertaining than you might expect. The effects run the gamut from hideous to pretty damned convincing, though this is the epitome of formula filmmaking. The ending is a bit anticlimatic, but it's a hoot if you're in the right frame of mind.
