Willis' New York City cop John McClane gets to play on his home turf in this action-packed if derivative third entry. McClane is called into a terrorist bombing case when the perp (Irons), called Simon, asks for him by name. The brother of one of McClane's victims, Simon's out for revenge by playing cat-and-mouse all over the city with our hapless hero. Before you can say Lethal Weapon, McClane is partnered with a Harlem store owner (Jackson) who is now forced to help track down the bomber. With a Vengeance features some extraordinary action sequences; but even in light of the likable pairing of Willis and Jackson, the film has less to offer than the first two.
