Wouldn’t it be hilarious to make a movie starring a serious actor (Hopkins) playing opposite a smart-alecky young comedian (Rock) about some spy games gone afoul? There could be chase scenes, explosions, Eastern European terrorists, feisty women, perhaps even some chase scenes? And to assure that the audiences will be rolling in the aisles, how about the young comedian guy is African-American and has to learn the tricks of the espionage game from the stoic, British “old-pro”? There could be lots of moments that show what different worlds that these two guys come from, but now they’ve got to work together to stop terrorism! The comedian guy would be committing all kinds of faux pas, exposing his lack of sophistication; meanwhile, the actor guy could learn a thing or two about life on the street ... and with the ladies! Can you just imagine how funny it would be to hear Anthony Hopkins say that something is “phat”? Hey, let’s make it topical — it could be about blowing up New York, but the good guys prevail this time, thanks to this most unlikely of duos! We could get Jerry Bruckheimer to produce it and Joel Schumacher could direct it! Doesn’t that sound like a great idea for a movie?
