Back to the Beach: Frankie and Annette are back together again in this forced piece of baby boomer nostalgia. The sweethearts of the '60s, now parents living in the Midwest, travel to California to visit their daughter, and keep running into various '60s TV stars. Stevens, looking great as ever, is there, as well as cameos by Bob Denver, Alan Hale, Jr., Jerry Mathers, Tony Dow and Don Adams.

Brain Candy: Canada's five-man comic arsenal "The Kids in the Hall" make their big-screen debut in this witty, on-target satire of '90s America. An unscrupulous pharmaceutical company develops a happiness drug and unleashes it on an unsuspecting public. In true Kids fashion, pain and anger are turned into laughter as the Kids skewer America's mindset towards the elderly, drugs, the handicapped, MTV, grunge - and there's a terrific "coming out" song-and-dance number. The cast is great, with everyone playing multiple roles as they did on TV, though with 90 minutes to fill rather than 25, the film doesn't always reach the hilarity level of the show. However, it still packs plenty of laughs.
