Position Summary:
The Editorial Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the ongoing maintenance of TLA Entertainment Groups’ Internet sites. With direction from the Managing Editor and Editorial Director, the Assistant Editor will maintain quality and flow of content for TLA’s various online (web) divisions as well as page content of TLA’s mail order catalogs as warranted and needed.
Supervision:
There are no direct reports to the Editorial Assistant
Essential Job Functions:
- Entering new titles, and pertinent information about those titles into the database
- Filing artwork in an organized, easily accessible format
- Scanning artwork for placement on the website
- Updating and maintaining database with correct and most current information
- Monitoring other web sites focused on DVD Retail and VOD (On-Demand) content.
- Entering titles in MILTy and Ecometry (database systems)
- Checking warehouse stock on clearance lists and in-stock lists (approximately 800-900 titles that need status checked several times a week; ideally every day)
- Checking warehouse inventory and adding old/non-selling titles to clearance lists
- Researching information on the countless studios who “cold call” on a daily basis to ascertain whether or not it would be worth it to do business with them
- Running daily/weekly/monthly sales reports for web and catalog
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Excellent writing and typing skills
- Excellent time-management skills with a large degree of self-motivation and initiative
- Ability to be very detail-oriented and organized
- Comfortable working with and handling adult material
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
