I think it's pretty clear just from looking at it that the Cobra Libre is not like other sex toys. Most people, at first glance, probably respond more with confusion that anticipation. I mean, look at the thing. It certainly bears no resemblance to a vagina by any stretch of the imagination. Heck, it doesn't even look like a robot's vagina (I'd assume).

So why bother with it? Well, if nothing else, it looked like it could offer me something new. At this point in my sex toy career, I've stuck my dick inside cyberskin pussies, fantaflesh mouths, UR3 assholes and everything in between. The sad fact is, while there's some clear industry leaders, a stroker is basically a stroker, however you want to dress it up. Sure, some are better than others, but it's the same basic concept. I'm in need of something I haven't tried before, and I'm not quite ready for that electro-shock shit.

Enter the Cobra Libre, a rechargeable male cockhead vibrator developed with fine German engineering by the folks at Fun Factory. Like all Fun Factory toys, it's got a sleek and fun design that immediately makes you feel a little less pervy than many sex toys would make you feel. It's beautiful to look at. So it passes the design test. But that's not what we really care about, is it? No, the important test is how it fared when I was unzipped, lubed and horny.

The verdict? Well, I hate to say it, because I had really high hopes for this toy, but I gotta go with a solid "eh", when it comes to the Cobra Libre.

See, the simplicity of the design makes it seem like the toy should be simple as well. But unfortunately, it's a bit clunky, sort of difficult to figure out (the three-language, small-print, confusing as fuck instruction booklet didn't help much), and it only houses the head of your penis! The touchpad controls look sleek and sophisticated, which is all well and good until you actually want to masturbate with the fucking thing. A few easy-to-understand buttons would make a world of difference. Same goes for the power supply. Rather than opting for a few replaceable batteries, the Cobra Libre is a rechargeable vibrator that works only with the Fun Factory Click N' Charge accessory (which, thankfully, is included). The problem occurs when you take the toy out of the box and read that you need to charge it for up to twelve hours before your first use! If you refrain, you run the risk of losing power halfway through your masturbation session (which is fucking terrible, trust me). Once that half-day charge is all done, the things good to go, but twelve hours is a lot of fucking foresight, and frankly, I don't want to have to make that kind of commitment when it comes to my sex toys.

As far as vibrations go, yes, this thing's fucking powerful and it feels great. It would feel better if it housed more than my cockhead (my instinct is to just keep ramming it in), but it does a good job with what it offers. Seriously strong vibrations.

All in all, what you've got here is an incredibly ambitious sex toy that just ends up seeming like more trouble than it's worth. The Multi-Function Maestro does a pretty similar job at a fraction of the price. The Cobra Libre's strengths blow the Maestro out of the water, but frankly, a luxury toy that carries a price tag like this shouldn't have any weaknesses, and this thing's carrying lots of them.

If you're gonna buy this thing, you'll probably end up being satisfied with it. But you should know what you're getting into.
