The story begins with Christopher, a small town boy on vacation in San Francisco, and goes on to capture eight other boys from around the world at their intimate best. Tolga, a German exchange student, frolics nude at the Grand Canyon; J.C., an aspiring British actor, becomes a boy at play on a deserted beach. Brian and Tyler make passionate love. Christopher and the Boys continues the Howard Roffman tradition of striking images that are at once innocent and highly sensual.

This book may be an older release (2008) of the work of photographer Howard Roffman but it is a very fine collection of light hearted and sensual imagery. Known for his widely collection of the Bel Ami group of healthy young fit and seductive lads, here Roffman tells the stories of nine boys from all around the world at their most alluring and erotic. Starting with Christopher, a small-town boy vacationing in San Francisco, these beautiful black and white photos take us on a whirlwind tour to the Grand Canyon, where German exchange student Tolga communes with nature; a deserted beach, where aspiring British actor J.C. plays in the sea and sand; and more.
What sets this particular book apart is the implied narrative that accompanies the photographs. Roffman also gives a brief introduction to the models, making the book al the more personal and inviting. His images capture the beauty, innocence and unashamed, explicit sexuality of young guys. Roffman has earned his position as one of the finest photographers of the male figure and this book shows it off very well.
