I just watched this movie and it ended this very second. I have wasted the five minutes of my life to register with tla so that I can rate this thing that called itself a movie. This was supposed to be a romantic/comedy film for my partner and I for our anniversary which it almost ruined - thank Allah I have a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. I am 28 years old and have grown up in Indian culture and this is so far from it. It takes years to cultivate a gay relationship in any culture so try something realistic - like a bottle of chilled wine in the fridge instead. Two samosas down!

You'll love Grandma, along with her her Asian words of wisdom. I feel she makes the film stand out.

This film is a pleasure to relax to. When you need a good laugh. At least I think so. I realize there are other comedy gay flicks funnier to some. It's just I put this one up there with them.

I will say this, about the film. It teaches the lesson of being yourself, about being honest with yourself, and others. As it will only come back to haunt you in the end. Even as it may hurt others in the mean time.

The end of the film concludes happily. Which of course a film of this nature usually does.

I give the fim "3" - Stars.

My main issue with Chicken Tikka Masala is how afraid it is to show intimacy between its two leads. It's inevitable to compare this film with Touch of Pink which was a hilarious, refreshing and overall superb effort -- not to mention completely unafraid of showing its two leads IN LOVE.

Most of the movie has Peter Ash posing as Chris Bisson's best man, and after a while -- the audience begins to believe that more than the fact that these two are really in love.

The ending is predictable and to be frank, rather annoying. Watch Touch of Pink instead.

It seems like Thomas is a bitter queen who just enjoys bitching, this movie captivated me with it's charm and joy. I found the characters loveable and charismatic. It wasn't as much the plot as much as enjoying "the moment" and laughing with the cast.

I don't usually compare films, but since you already mentioned Touch of Pink, then I will. While not a great movie, Pink had its charm & wit, good acting, and while predictable, it still was overall pleasing. So I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala based on TLA's own review. What a disappointment (once again. Are these reviews for real at TLA - almost everything is so good!) Masala had a strong premise, but it never delivered. The plot was overwrought, as was the acting. The "comic" scene in the strip club was embarassing to watch, and that actor (Simran's father)- bad from beginning to end, badly playing a caricature. The only good acting was the grandmother, whose character was not very likable. I really wanted to like this movie. Maybe it needed a few Bollywood numbers. Again, don't waste your money on this one.
