Don’t you just hate it when porn studios throw together odds and ends and package it as a new release? Bel Ami’s solo-action title Boy Watch Part 1 is basically a compilation of audition scenes taped for their trademark brand of Eastern-European twink porn, but the program’s relaxed atmosphere and high production values set it apart from the usual mish-mash.

Though clearly amateurs, the boys here are sizzling. 20-year old Lukas is number ten on the disc, and they could’ve have picked a more fitting position for him - he really is a ten. The openly gay stud’s beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes, infectious smile and 18-centimeter cock (anyone know the metric system?), proves he has everything it takes to be a porn superstar in the U.S., except mastery of the English language - and how important is that anyway? Other promising beefcake include bodybuilder Andrej and uncut, raven-haired Michal, who says he’s into bathroom sex and gives us a nice view of his chocolate starfish.

The only drawback to this entry, in fact, is that some of the dudes look uncomfortable or unfocused as they’re getting off. Some of them don’t even look at the camera, apparently embarrassed or disinterested by what they’re doing. (I suspect, however, that straight porn was playing off-screen to give them some encouragement.) A good porn movie, even a solo flick, is not just engorged body parts going through the motions - there has to be an aura of passion and pleasure. That’s missing in several places here. Also, though the cover promises 30 models, only the first ten get the full-feature treatment. The other 20 are shown in shorter clips with no interviews.

Still, there are a few handy features that push the DVD version into the thumbs-up category. You can skim through clips of the top ten models and choose the one that rings your bell, saving you from having to scan through scene after scene of undesirable guys. In addition, the "cumshots" track takes viewers to a collage of money shots - and boy, do these boys cum buckets. Must be something in the Danube.
