Synopsis

Ben Foster (who played Claire's bisexual boyfriend on season 3 of Six Feet Under) and openly gay Randy Harrison (Justin on Queer as Folk) star in this film adaptation of William Mastrosimone's one act play. It chronicles the story of a high school boy on the verge of committing a horrendous act of violence. The troubled student is brought back from the brink by a mentor teacher and the redemptive powers of a play the teacher convinces him to perform.

Superb Plot and Acting

Bang Bang You're Dead is one piece of art. Totally embroiling from beginning to end, it moves you from the very truth it portrays that you know is true deep inside your soul. One cannot deny the reality it portrayed. You might not have personal experience of it, but nonetheless you know it has and will continue to happen in every high school. A good plot and a superb performance by a outstanding cast.

I first saw this movie when it was premiered as a Showtime Original. The film is based on the stage play "Bang, Bang, You're Dean", which is featured within the movie. For anyone who has been harrassed in high school, you quickly identify with characters... both literally and emotionaly. Great cinematography, continuity, and editing. The only problem that I had watching this film was re-living the not-so-long-ago experience of the high school years.
