B. Monkey, or La Femme Nikita Sees the Errors of Her Ways, Marries and Settles Down in a Cottage in the Country. Bursting with flashing style, over-the-top acting and some great action sequences, this thriller is great fun to watch, but don't try to make any sense out of the mindless plot or unbelievable characters. Argento (daughter of the famed Italian horror director) is the sexy sly jewel thief B. Monkey who, after meeting a dorky jazz-loving schoolteacher, decides to retire from the biz. But that "one last job" done as a favor to her crime pal (Rhys Meyers) becomes her undoing when the heist goes awry. Rupert Everett is a gas as a gay drug lord/bon vivant whose life is spiraling out of control, yet you'd never know it from his debonair attitude. The absolutely beautiful Rhys Meyers (Velvet Goldmine) is his volatile former lover. His beauty is diminished by his increasing drug dependency (well, actually, they put some white make-up on his face and black rings under his eyes) but his anger at being a boy toy dropped by the unloving Everett is never lessened. These two characters are so interesting that you wish that they'd drop the gal and concentrate on the two men's relationship!
