They say that love is even better the second time around. The same sentiment rings true for taking a cock up the ass. With those thoughts in mind, we here at TLAgay.com present the winners of the second annual TLA GAY AWARDS. We know you like to watch… and after the record number of ballots cast – a huge increase over last year – we know you like to vote!
It was a battle of the Brents in the “Performer of the Year” category, but Mr. Everett edged out Mr. Corrigan to take the crown. By a landslide the nod for “Year’s Most Romantic Porn” went to the taboo-shattering Taboo: The Peters Twins. (Make of that what you will.) The most hotly-contested race was “Twitter-Maniac,” with barely 2500 votes separating the top six contenders.
We also inaugurated a new category – the TLA Choice – in which our staff bestows some love ‘n lust to those we think deserve it. We’re pleased to announce that PAPER Magazine and their Editorial Director Mickey Boardman are the recipients of the “Best Not-in-the-Biz Industry Supporter” award for their ongoing advocacy of the gay adult industry. To wit: Mr. Mickey’s never-ending stream of daily tweets/repartee (tweetpartee?) with porn stars coupled with his exquisite insider coverage of the fashion world; his weekly NYC parties in whichever big (ahem) performer happens to be in town is usually feted; the magazine routinely devoting column inches (ahem again) to this wild ‘n wacky biz. All of these and more make for a much-deserved hug and a kiss.
Categories were once again devised by our smut-loving-staff; nominees were determined by overall vote-getters in each category. But it was the online votes of our customers and fans at large who determined the winners. Several of the races were tighter than we could have imagined (and we love to imagine anything tight) so we’re posting both the winners and the runner-ups.
