Review

A creepy, sick but atmospheric horror film, Anatomy tries to create suspense using disgusting effects to simulate realism but ends up just being disgusting. Potente (Run Lola Run) is Paula, an ambitious medical student who is accepted into a prestigious anatomy class. What looks like a splendid opportunity soon becomes a nightmare when she uncovers a ruthless secret medical society whose prime goal is to learn more about medicine by dissecting bodies while they are still alive. The premise is a promising one, but the filmmakers are unable to sustain tension or believability, relying on horror clichés and gross-outs for its too few scares. (German with English subtitles)
